Brave - Archery Tournament Animatic
An animatic I edited together based on the already released preview clip and storyboards found at Living Lines.
NOTE: The boards in the beginning are pretty blurry, but they stop being so about a 1/3 of the way in. The reason for this is the first boards are taken from a photo taken further away.
I had to cut some of the boards out, despite wanting to keep them there to compare with the final, but they felt too jarring because of how quickly I would have had to make them to fit them in. Hope you all enjoy.

Andreas Deja is a personal favorite of mine because he’s created some of the best villains Disney has ever seen. I love his unique style and iconic character design.

Just a few [of the] references [from different websites] I’ve compiled for making more unique face/body shapes in my characters.
Of course, creative liberty is (and can be) taken on most of these shapes, but anyone who wishes to design a character should at least know that there are many shapes and sizes for characters to be and that can define them.
I encourage making each character, human or animal, unique and identifiable by their silhouettes and profiles when they’re bald and unclothed.

Hello again world!
Not much has been happening since my last update.
I’m still waiting for school to start. Haven’t heard anything from Nick yet (it’s past mid-April now)…but I wasn’t expecting anything from them. Who knows? We’ll find out eventually in the mail where all rejection letters go.

I’ve been commissioned by a friend to draw her parents. Here is a WIP shot.

Sorry for the bad camera phone quality. Can’t afford a smart phone yet. Key word: Yet.
I’ve forgotten how to value things. All I have is a stubby no. 2 pencil (I gave away all my art supplies for some stupid reason? WHY DID I DO THAT) and no pencil sharpener in sight. It’s funny how things get distorted when you transfer an image to paper. Look at their heads! They’re slightly longer than in the source image.
Well. Practice makes perfect.
My first activity as an officer of our church’s youth group was to make a video to recruit new officers. I think it was the first time I actually hung out with everyone, and I had a blast!
We’re still getting back on our feet, but I hope that we can grow!
ETA: Video is hidden for now…so if you want to see it and have a vimeo account, just let me know.
A super quick trick for drawing draped fabric that my art teacher taught me in high school.
This will probably come in handy sometime in the future.
